What is Android

Andriod is an operating sytems of cellfone(mobile device ), like a smart phone and tablet computers.It is devloped by OPEN HEANDSET ALLIANCE led by GOOGLE. GOOGLE purchased initial developer of the software on August 17, 2005.

Android consists of a kernel based on the Linux kernel. It was written in C and application software running on an application framework its include JAVA compatible libraries. In October 2011 there were more than 300,000 apps available for Android, & the total number of applications downloaded from the Android Market as of December 2011 exceeded 10 billion. Android Market, the app store run by Google.

Licensing: Android Source code is available under free and open source software licenses.
